An introduction to fishing hooks:

A fishing tackle is an equipment used for fishing which consists of hooks, line and sinker. These three combined together gets the best touch to your equipment. When we talk of hooks, there are many types of them which may vary from different fishing types and also depend on which type of fish you are trying to catch. Here below are some of the types, shapes and sizes available in the market:
Sizes:

There are mainly two sizes; one which is followed by zero and other which is not. In case of the size where zero is mentioned, like in 3/0 the size of the hook is one size up than 2/0. However in the size where zero is not mentioned; like for example 3, the size is one size down than 2.

Types:
Basing on the strength, they can be extra strength variables like the 2x strong, 3x strong etc. when the variants are considered, these variables can be of about nine types like the knife edge point, needle edge point, micro barbs, barbless variants, reversed hook points, beak and short hook. There is also another very less common type that is Gape hook.

Various points of consideration while purchasing:

Make sure it is a stainless one, which do not degrade under water and do tend to bend more easily than the non stainless version
Do not go for a chemical or laser sharpening of your fishing clasp. Rather go for a purchase on strong and sharp hooks
Make a buy on those which are easy to remove like the barbless type.

Fly fishing tackle:

The equipment mostly used by fly anglers and includes fly lines, fly rods, artificial fly, terminal tackle (which connects fly line to artificial fly). However some types of terminal tackle may also include some strike indicators or added weighs.
Make sure when you buy these equipments; you go through the costumer reviews first.
