Bass fishing is a great sport that anyone can learn how to do. Although it takes some technique and skill, the biggest trait to have when fishing is patience. The right tools also help, but being able to cast, reel and hook a fish is more important.
The best part about bass fishing is that it can be raining, or a perfect clear day. The weather shouldn't rain on your bass fishing parade, but it will affect your fish catching success. The warmer the weather, the bass are likely to go to the bottom and shadier areas. If it's cooler out, the fish are more responsive to lures that are closer to the top of the water. From there, you will need to decide whether to use a heavier or lightweight lure.
As far as tools go, you will need a rod and reel, along with bait. A perfect rod and reel combo for a beginner is called a spincast. This is an easy rod/reel combo to use because you just press a button and cast out into the water. There is no worrying about tangling your line when you cast out into the water. You also need to make sure you have a lure tied to the fishing line. The best types of lure for a beginner are worms or a shad. When you're a beginner, you don't want to be discouraged by using gear that professionals use. Master the techniques first, and then progress later.
There are many places to go bass fishing. There are canals, lakes, ponds or rivers. These are typically fresh water areas that bass hang out in. What is great about bass fishing is that you can fish from the shore, boat or pier. As long as you can cast a far distance, you can fish there!
Bass fishing can be difficult at first, but if you have the patience, you will catch fish! Once you feel a tug at your line, make sure to pull your rod up as hard as you can so you hook the fish. Reel in and don't stop! Once you are close enough to the fish, you will be able to pick the fish up by the mouth. When you get a good grip, try to carefully remove the hook out. Pliers is a great tool to have on hand when you go fishing, as it makes removing the hook a lot easier. If you can, take a picture, and show your loved ones your great achievement of catching a fish. After all, you definitely worked hard to catch it!
