Although there are many different types of bait that can be used to catch trout, one of the most convenient, easily accessible, and effective is known as Powerbait. Powerbait is a very effective bait for trout and as you will find out, involves more than simple "still fishing" in a lake or pond that has been stocked with trout. In other words if you want to know how to fish with Powerbait, you simply use whatever technique that you currently use for live or soft plastic bait, but just substitute the Powerbait version. Do you drift fish for trout with live worms or minnows? Give Power floating trout worms or minnows a try. Do you like to fish for trout with a tube jig or small grub in slow moving water? Try a Power Tube or grub and see what happens.
And then of course there is the old standby, "bottom fishing" with Power eggs, trout nuggets, trout dough, or glitter trout bait. Many people automatically think that these types of bait are how to fish Powerbait for our multi colored friends', and with good reason. So, the next time that someone asked you how to fish with Powerbait, remember that you can say, "the same way that you do with any trout bait." It is also said that Powerbait and related products will out fish non Powerbait products by up to 3-1, which is a fact that I have more or less found to be true.
