When it comes to the act of fishing for trout many anglers prefer not to use bait and therefore have to use some manifestation of a trout fishing lure, and in this article I will outline the top 5 trout fishing lures so that you can make sure that you have one (or all) of them available to you the next time that you head out in search of trout. All of these lures have served me well for the last two or so decades anytime that I am fishing for trout.
I have been spin fishing for trout for more than twenty five years and when a lure is order the following trout fishing lures have enabled me to experience a ton of success on the water. Whether you like to throw a lure from the bank of a lake, the seat of a boat, or while standing in a flowing river or stream, there is little doubt that the following lures need to be a part of your trout fishing arsenal.
Jakes Stream-a-lure - This unique little spinner is an excellent trout lure, especially when used in a river or stream situation. This spinner will stay down beneath the surface in fast water. Its unique blade shape delivers smooth and consistent action while enhancing visibility to fish lurking at the current's edge.
Panther Martin Red Hook Spinner - With this lure you get the awesome vibration of the original Panther Martin spinner with the added bleeding-bait fish attraction of a red hook, making it an excellent choice for trout fishing.
Wordens Rooster Tail - The Rooster Tail has fish-catching ability and construction, coupled with superb detailing, excellent coloring and the hand-tied hackle tail provide a bait with as much detail as a hand-tied fly. These trout fishing lures have been a favorite among serious trout fishermen for many years.
Joe's Flies Trout Spinner - Size #10 Joes Flies "classic" series is among the top lures that can be used when fishing for trout. The combination of an artificial fly and a traditional in-line spinner, make this lure an extremely effective choice for trout of all kinds.
Acme Kastmaster Spoon - As you can imagine these trout spoons cast extremely well and are also extremely effective. The unique design produces a wild, erratic action without line twist that hungry trout find difficult to resist.
No matter how you slice it, the aforementioned lures need to be a part of any serious trout fisherman's repertoire. If any of them aren't a part of yours they should be added sooner rather than later.
